“Meri has helped me to navigate some of the most challenging changes of my professional and personal life.

She has helped me to understand my own tendencies and to leverage them for success rather than to get stuck in my blind spots. I am living a more authentic and self-aware life because of my work with Meri. Her guidance and input has been invaluable. My growth as an individual and as a leader and business owner are a direct result of my work with her.”

“Meri listens to understand, fully committed and in the moment. This rare quality of active listening was coupled with an ability to shine a light on my most vulnerable points of self-doubt and self-possibility.

I have rarely felt so ‘seen’ and heard. The conversations I had with Meri helped me to create practices to break patterns of behavior that were creating barriers in my personal and professional life, practices that I continue to employ today. These self-imposed mental ruts are exhausting and limiting. Meri helped me to step out of them, and today I find that I am more curious, creative and generous to those I love because of it.”

“Meri has been a part of my leadership journey for many years. Her ability to assist me in recognizing my way of being and how I show up, has been crucial in my ability to develop and grow; most importantly around self-awareness.

As an eight on the enneagram, I can quickly move through life forgetting about the people around me. Meri has coached me in a way that has been a game changer for my relationships with people at work, as well as my personal relationships outside of work. I can recognize and adjust my behaviors so that I am working with people, not over people.

Meri also does a fantastic job of assisting the people she coaches on using their strengths and looking at what they do well as well as areas of growth. Not only have I witnessed my own personal growth, but the growth of many other peers that Meri has coached and worked with. She has a special talent for getting to know people, who they are professionally and personally, and developing a true relationship that enables her to hold people accountable.”

My experience, and that of Roseburg Forest Products, in working with Meri has been beneficial in effect and direction far beyond what we could have ever expected.

To our team members who have been mentored and engaged with Meri, the development has been both personal and professional, with that dual impact adding positives to relationships both at home and in their work. They’ve learned what’s behind their personal interactions then how to more effectively manage that personal style to achieve more productive interactions and outcomes. I’ve heard repeated stories of our folks growing from Meri’s guidance as they become more self-aware and, just as important, more self-understanding.

Similarly, the leaders of our participating team members share how they’ve grown in learning to better lead the participants. As the team member grows, their leader is challenged to grow alongside them. And, our leaders recognize their investment in that team member only gets enhanced if they take on that challenge. The result has been business or operating improvements, but also building up of the entire team—which again pushes our leader to grow more.

On a professional level, Meri has helped my continued growth as a key influencer in our organization. She brings a development perspective that’s just enough different than mine to push me to see broader and from that different perspective. This has pushed me to stay aware of, and sensitive to, not just the behavior of a team member or several team members, but to always look behind that behavior to see what the motivation for the behavior may be. This allows me to more effectively and efficiently influence that team member, but also has added a layer of empathy for where the team member’s motivation may be coming from. This increased awareness and sensitivity has improved my ability to productively influence and lead my team, as well as team members throughout the organization—even including my own peers on many occasions.

This same growth in understanding that I’ve gleaned from Meri has a personal impact as well. It’s increased my effectiveness at communication by reminding me of the value of effective listening –first. This in turn has caused me to slow down and pay attention, not so quickly jump to the fix and move on. With both family and friends, it’s added a layer of support for them beyond resolving an issue. And, frankly, it’s added another layer of the “fun” and interesting part of being allowed to be an influencer with people’s dynamics. When I do communicate, I now better understand what’s behind my own perspectives and the messaging that those perspectives generate.
